Intended use
The wall lamp can be used to illuminate indoor and outdoor areas (protection type
IP54). The product is intended for installation on a wall.
The safety instructions must be observed at all times!
Any use other than that described above could lead to damage to this product and
involves the risk of short circuits, fi re, electric shock, etc. No part of the product may
be modifi ed or converted!

Explanation of Symbols, Inscriptions
The lightning symbol indicates a health hazard, e.g. electric shock.
This symbol indicates specifi c risks associated with handling, function and
use.
IP54 Protection type IP54 (splash proof), the product is suitable for use in
outdoor areas

Safety Instructions
Read the complete operating manual carefully before using the product,
as it contains important information about the correct installation and
operation.
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to ob-
serve these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any
resulting damage!
We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury
caused by incorrect handling or non-compliance with the safety instruc-
tions! The warranty will be void in such cases!
Caution!
The product may be installed only by a qualifi ed technician (e.g. electri-
cian) who is familiar with the relevant regulations (e.g. VDE, German
electrical wiring regulations)!
Improper work carried out at the mains voltage endangers not only your
life but also the life of others!
If you do not have the expertise required for the installation, do not in-
stall it yourself but entrust the work to a qualifi ed electrician.
• Unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation of the product is not allowed
for safety and approval reasons (CE).
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children! There
is danger of a life-threatening electric shock!
• The product may be operated only on the mains voltage (see section "Tech-
nical Data"). Never try to operate the product at another voltage, as this will
cause its destruction.
When installed, an all-pole separator for the mains voltage (e.g. earth fault
circuit interrupter) must be present.
• The product is designed according to protection class I; the protective earth
conductor must be connected.
If there is not a mains supply provided with a protective earth conductor at
the place of installation, the product must not be connected/used there. In
this case, install a new voltage supply with a protective earth wire.
• The product may be installed and used outdoors and indoors.
For outdoor use, the correct mounting position has to be observed. The two
light heads must point upward and downward. Install the product on a verti-
cal wall!
The product is suitable for use outdoors; however, it must never be used in
or under water!
• Do not use this product in rooms or under adverse environmental condi-
tions where combustible gases, vapours or dust are or where they may be
present! There is a risk of explosion!
• Only GX53 energy-saving bulbs with max. 11 W each may be installed and
operated in the wall light. The use of light bulbs of higher capacity leads to
overheating; there is risk of fi re!
• Do not attach any items (e.g. decoration) to the wall lamp.
• As with all other lamps/light bulbs, the following applies: Never look into the
light with the naked eye or with optical instruments; there is the danger of
eye injuries!
• The lamp must not be exposed to extremes of temperature, strong vibra-
tions or heavy mechanical stress.
• If it can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible, the device
must be turned off (take out corresponding fuse or switch off automatic cut-
out, switch off corresponding ground fault circuit interrupter) and precau-
tions are to be taken to ensure that it is not used unintentionally. After this,
arrange for an expert to check the product.
Safe operation can no longer be assumed if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage
- the product does not work at all or works poorly (fl ickering light, leaking
smoke or a smell of burning, audible crackling noises, discolouration to
the product or on adjacent surfaces)
- the product was stored under unfavourable conditions
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could be-
come a dangerous plaything for children.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Em-
ployer’s Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating
Facilities are to be observed!
• If you have any questions that are not answered in this manual, please con-
tact our technical service or another specialist.
Preparations for Installation
The wall lamp may only be installed by a qualifi ed technician who is fa-
miliar with the relevant regulations (e.g. VDE)!
Improper work carried out at the mains voltage endangers not only your
life but also the life of others!
If you do not have the expertise required for the installation, do not in-
stall it yourself but entrust the work to a qualifi ed electrician.
Please refer to the section "Safety Information"!
• Install the wall light only on a stable surface. Use screws and plugs that are suitable
for the surface. Use the product only when it is fi rmly and steadily mounted.
• The wall lamp must be installed and used out of the reach of children.
• The wall lamp must be protected on the user's distribution board by a 10/16 A fuse.
An earth fault circuit interrupter must be installed before this (FI protective switch).
• The wall lamp must be voltage-free during installation. It is not suffi cient to just turn
off the light switch!
Turn the power off and ensure that none of the poles are live by removing the electric
circuit's fuse or switching off at the circuit breaker. Secure it against unauthorised
reconnection, e.g. with a danger sign.
In addition, switch off the appropriate earth-leakage circuit breaker.
• Check that the mains cable is free of current e.g. with an appropriate tester.
