Installation
a) Preparation, choosing the installation site
•
Installation and connection should be carried out by a professional.
The broad range of connection and programming options allow individual con-
fi guration according to need.
We therefore recommend, where possible, programming and testing the sys-
tem before building it into its permanent position.
This helps to plan the wiring correctly and avoids unnecessary trouble-
shooting.
• The keypad can be mounted indoors and outdoors (IP66), but the control unit
must only be installed and used in dry areas.
• The keypad should be installed directly next to the door that is to be equipped
with the keypad.
Make sure when choosing the installation site that the keypad does not ob-
struct opening the door and that the keypad cannot be damaged by the door.
• The control unit should be in a protected and tamper-proof location, so it can-
not be accessed by visitors and guests.
• The cable between the keypad and control unit should not be too long, we
recommend a maximum of 10 m.
Always lay the cable where it is protected and cannot be seen, e.g. in the wall
or in a suitable installation conduit.
• The keypad and control unit must be supplied with a stabilised voltage of 12 -
24 V DC.
The keypad requires a max. current of about 145 mA, and the control unit
about max. 100 mA.
To guarantee the functioning of the keypad and control unit in the case of power
failure, a rechargeable battery system should be used as a back-up voltage /
power supply.
b) Installing the keypad
• Remove the surface-mounting frame from the keypad. There is a special tool
supplied for this purpose.
•
Run the necessary connecting cables to the keypad installation site. We recom-
mend that the cable between the keypad and the controller is not immured the
wall, but rather run inside a suitable installation conduit.
• Fasten the surface-mounting frame to the wall. Use appropriate wall plugs and
screws. Pay attention when drilling and tightening the screws that existing ca-
bles or pipes are not damaged!
• Remove the keypad's rear panel, by removing the four screws.
• Use to connect the enclosed adapter cable to the 6-pin connector, do not
forget the power supply of the keypad! Consult the English manual for circuit
examples.
Close the back of the keypad again, making sure that you do not entangle the
cable.
• Place the keypad in the surface-mounting frame and secure it in place using
the special tool supplied.
Use in accordance with manufacturer's instructions
The product is used, for example, for access control of doors. Separating the lock
code (mounted next to the door) and the control unit (mounted on the inside)
provides an additional interference and access control.
As a special feature, it is not only by possible to access it by entering your user
code, but also by means of a battery-free transponder.
The keypad can be mounted indoors and outdoors (IP66), but the control unit
must only be installed and used in dry areas.
The keypad and the control unit work on an operating voltage of 12 - 24 V / DC.
Any other use than that described above may damage the product. Moreover,
this may give rise to hazards such as short-circuiting, fi re, electric shock, etc. No
part of the product may be modifi ed or converted!
The safety instructions are to be observed without fail!
