The keypad can also be confi gured to operate without the control unit.
Screws are provided for this purpose.
However, unauthorised opening of the door is then possible, by opening
the keypad housing and appropriate manipulation (as with many tradi-
tional code locks)!
b) Installing the control unit
• Open the top cover to gain access to the screw terminal, unscrew both of the
screws on the cover.
• Install the control unit in a suitable location, using screws and wall plugs suit-
able for the surface.
Pay attention when drilling and tightening the screws that no cables or pipes
are damaged!
• Connect the wires to the screw terminal in the control unit. Consult the accom-
panying detailed English manual for appropriate circuit examples.
• Replace the cover removed previously and tighten the screws.
c) Door-opener
If the door opener on your door works with DC voltage, the enclosed diode must
be placed in parallel to prevent damage to the control unit.
Depending on the type of door release (Fail-Safe or Fail-Secure), the appropriate
connection to the control unit must be made.
In the English instruction manual, you will fi nd a circuit example.
Programming
All the programming steps are described in the accompanying detailed English-
language instruction manual.
We would like to show you a few special features:
• Depending on how it is programmed, the door can be opened in different ways:
1. Only by inputting the code
2. Only with the transponder
3. Combination of code input and transponder
It is possible to program an individual code number for each transponder. You
can also program a single code number for all transponders (or a particular
group of people).
Depending on how critical the security access is that you want to protect with
the lock code, you may wish to use an additional one-time code for each trans-
ponder. In this way, the door cannot be opened if the transponder is lost or
stolen.
• Record all the information about the codes and transponders in a table / data-
base. This not only helps to obtain an accurate picture of every person who has
access, but also who may access the lock again (e.g. in case of loss or theft of
the transponder, or if a particular person is no longer to have access ).
• The master code and the user codes can be from 4 to 8 digits long.
Here there are two different modes, which can be selected with the function
"USER PIN ENTRY MODE, Location 70" (see English instruction manual):
"Auto Entry Mode": All user codes have the same number of digits as the mas-
ter code.
"Manual Entry Mode"(default setting): After entering the user code, the "# "
(hash key) must be pressed. The user code can therefore have a different
number of digits from the master code. This can increase the security, when
you have authorised access for many people.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The product is maintenance-free. Any repair should be carried out by a specialist
workshop.
For cleaning, a dry, clean, soft cloth is suffi cient. To clean the keys of the keypad
unit, use a cloth dampened with water.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, as these might cause discolouration.
Dust on the control unit can be very easily removed with a brush and a vacuum
cleaner.
