b) Mounting the control unit
• Open the upper cover to access the screw clamps; remove both screws of the
cover.
• Mount the control unit at a suitable location; depending on the surface, suit-
able screws and dowels are to be used.
Pay attention when drilling and tightening the screws that no cable or pipes are
damaged!
• Connect the cables to the screw clamps in the control unit. The corresponding
wiring examples are illustrated in the enclosed detailed operating instructions
in English.
• Finally attach the casing cover previously removed and screw it fi rmly in place.
c) Door opener
If the door opener at your door works with DC voltage, then the included diode
should be serially connected to avoid damage to the control unit.
Connection to the control unit is to be made, depending on the design type of
the door opener (fail-safe or fail-secure).
A relevant wiring example is illustrated in the operating instructions in English.
Programming
All programming steps are described in the enclosed comprehensive operating
instructions in English.
We would like to only show you some special features in the following:
• The door can be opened in different ways, depending on the programming:
1. Only via code entry
2. Only using transponder
3. Combination of code entry and transponder
It is possible to program a separate code number for every transponder. How-
ever, you can also program a single code number for all transponders (or a
certain group of persons).
Depending on the safety-related criticality of the access that you want to pro-
tect with the code lock, use of an additional and unique code for each trans-
ponder is recommended. This prevents the door from being opened when the
transponder is lost or stolen.
• Record all information on the codes and transponders in a table / database.
This helps not only to get an exact overview of all persons with an access au-
thorisation, but also block access once again (e.g. if the transponder is lost /
stolen or a certain person should be denied access).
• The master code and also the user codes can have a character length of 4 to 8
fi gures.
However, there are two different modes of operation that can be selected in the
"USER PI ENTRY MODE, Location 70" (see operating instructions in English):
"Auto entry mode": All user codes must have the same character length as the
master code.
"Manual entry mode" (basic setting): After entering the user code, the "#" key
(hash key) must be pressed. Therefore, the user codes can have a character
length different from that of the master code. This can increase the security if
you issue a single access authorisation for several persons.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The product is maintenance-free. Any repair should be carried out by a specialist
workshop.
A clean, dry, soft cloth is suffi cient for cleaning. The cloth can be soaked in water
for cleaning the keypad of the code lock.
Do not use aggressive detergents as these might cause discolouration.
Dust on the control unit can be very easily removed using a brush and a vacuum
cleaner.
