Make sure the disc is sitting properly in the correct
recess, with the label side up.
If a disc is dhly or has scratches, the pictures may
appear distorted and tile playback operation may
stop. In such cases, cletm the disc and unplug the
power cord guldthen plug it again before resuming
playback.
o With DVDs that use some titles for playback
program signals, playback may start from the second
title, or it may skip these titles.
®During the playback of two layered disc, pictures
may stop for a moment. This happens when tile 1st
layer switches to the 2nd layer. This is not a mal-
ffmcfion.
Some DVDs contain their own menus, such as a
guidance menu which describes the contents of the
disc or a selection menu for sound, language and other
customized settings.
®The DVD menu will appear.

Press the arrow buttons (V/A./I_/_I) to chalge the
setting, and theri press the ENTER bi.lton.
®The tray will close automatically, and playback will
then start from the first chapter or track of the disc.
You need to press tile PLAY button only when tile
tray has been closed by pressing the OPEN/CLOSE
button.
o When you playback the DVD which a title menu is
recorded, it may appear on the screen. In this case,
refer to "USING THE TITLE MENU".

With a DVD containing a title menu, you can select
desired titles from the menu.

The title menu will appear.
Notes
o If you press the OPEN/CLOSE button in tile
TV/VCR mode or power-off, the DVD tray will
open.
®If you press the DVD side PLAY button in the
TV/VCR mode or power off, you can start the DVD
playback.
®A "prohibited icon" may appear tit
the top-right on the TV screen
during operation, warning that a
prohibited operation has been
encountered by the DVD player
or the disc.
o Press tl'le arrow bi.ftons (_/A/I_/-',II) to cha_ge the
setting, and then press tile ENTER button.

®Press the DISC MENU button to call up the DVD
inenu.
Press the TITLE button to call tip the title metro.
