Overview

Symantec Endpoint Protection for Windows XP Embedded

5.1 offers advance defense against hackers and worms,

Trojan horses, viruses, and other malicious code attacking

and infecting embedded devices based on Windows XP

Embedded platforms. These specialized devices, such as

POS terminals, self-service kiosks, ATMs, thin clients, and

medical devices often have little or no protection against

today’s increasing threats. The Symantec solution provides

a multilayered security approach, including antivirus, an

application-centric firewall, application control, intrusion

prevention and detection, and policy enforcement, which

protects Windows XP Embedded or WEPOS devices from

being compromised by either inbound or outbound traffic.
