Scan Control
1. If you haven’t already done so, launch and log in to the Reader Administrator Console.
2. Click the Scan Control link on the left-hand side of any page. The Reader Scan Control page
displays.
3. To initiate a scan for all On Demand read points associated with a Read Point Class that has selected
the “On Demand” Scan Period, click Initiate Scan on the Reader Scan Control page.
The Reader queues the On Demand scans.
4. To poll read points associated with a Read Point Class that has selected the “Polled” Scan Period,
click Enable Polling on the Reader Scan Control page (the button toggles to Disable Polling.) To
stop polling, click Disable Polling (the button toggles back to Enable Polling.)
The polling state is saved in the configuration file when committed, so the system will come up with
the last saved setting.
The bottom of the Reader Scan Control page displays the next periodic scan time (i.e., “Periodic
Scan schedule in 3 minutes” or “There are no periodic scans scheduled.”)
