Section 9. Ad-hoc Queries
While the AR 400 Reader is not designed to be your primary source for querying tags, you can use the
Tag Query page to perform simple queries to locate a specific tag.
Perform an Ad-hoc Query for a Specific Tag
To query for a specific Matrics tag, type the tag type and ID in the corresponding Matrics Method fields
on the Tag Query page. To query for a specific EPC tag, select the tag type, and type the hex values for
the 96bit type, Manager, Object Class, and Serial Number (ID) in the corresponding EPC Method fields
on the Tag Query page.
Note: The Matrics Method will work for any tag type.
One of the following statements will result:
The tag is not known to the system. (The tag has never been seen or imported.)
The tag is not visible to the system. (The tag is known to the system, but is currently not visible to
any read point.)
The tag is visible at one or more read points. (A list of read points where the tag can be seen
displays.)
