2.6.3 Positioning of 2 Cranes on two Runways (LPR
®
1DP)
The Y-shaped arrangement can be used to determine the position of two cranes on different
crane runways, for example. In the arrangement shown in Figure 8, the transponder unit
(station 1) is equipped with two antennas. One base station (station 2 and station 3) is
installed on each of the two cranes. The two antennas are secured to the wall at the same
height as the respective base stations installed on the cranes. In this way, the distance of
both cranes from the wall can be calculated. By comparing these two distances, a warning
