Diverter 4-463 Series
Installation & Service Instructions
This product is a diverter only. It does not act as an on/off and does
not control the water temperature. It must be used in combination with
a mixing valve.
INSTALLATION:
1. Flush the lines thoroughly before installation. Debris can cause
damage to the cartridge.
2. e inlet port is clearly marked with an arrow cast into the valve
body.
3. is diverter is best suited for a three-feature shower. If it is to
be used in a two-feature shower, DO NOT “CAP OFF” THE
UNUSED PORT. See the diagram for two-feature piping.
4. Keep the plaster guard in place until the nished wall is complete.
SERVICE:
1. Remove handle from diverter.
2. Gently pull out the dome cover (HF-111) and escutcheon
(HF-113).
3. Unscrew the cartridge retainer (HF-137) with a deep socket 27
mm wrench.
4. If replacing sleeve (HF-136), remove by turning counter clockwise.
5. Make sure the cartridge (HF-135) is clean and free from dust. Oil
the O-ring with vegetable oil and wipe inside of the valve housing
with a wet cloth before reassembling.
6. Reassemble the valve by reversing these instructions and check the
system for leaks.
