IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION! WARNING Read ALL instructions BEFORE using this heater! Failure to do so would cause fire or electric shock. This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, DO NOT let bare skin touch hot surfaces. If provided, use handles when moving this heater. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 2′6″ (0.8 m) from the front of the heater, and keep them away from the sides and rear.
ALWAYS turn this heater off before unplugging it from the outlet. ALWAYS disconnect this unit from the power supply and allow time for it to cool before performing any assembly or cleaning and before relocating the electric fireplace. NEVER leave this heater unattended while on. ALWAYS unplug this heater when not in use. ALWAYS store this heater in a dry location. NEVER use the fireplace if it has become wet. DO NOT touch with wet hands.
Remote Control Set-up When you first receive the remote control, pull out the plastic sheet between the battery and its electrical contact. To replace the battery, press the button as shown below to let the case slide out. Position the new battery where the old one was and slide the case back into the remote. Fig.1 Fig.2 ALWAYS replace the battery in the remote control with the same type of battery. Failure to do so may result in personal injury or property damage.
Control Panel OPERATION BUTTON Toggles between power ON and OFF. Toggles through 6 levels of flame brightness when the flame is ON. Press once to activate the fan and start the low level heater. Press again to start the full heater. Press again to turn off the heater. The fan will blow cool air and then turn off automatically. Turns the fireplace off after a set amount of time from 1–8 hours. NOTE DO NOT press the buttons too quickly. Give the unit time to respond to each command.
HEATER TEMP Press once to activate the fan and start the low level heater. Press again to start the full heater. Press again to turn off the heater. The fan will blow cool air and then turn off automatically. Adjusts the thermostat between 62 and 82°F The heater will only activate when its sensor detect that the ambient room temperature is below the set temperature. Press to set a time limit from 1–8 hours, after which the fireplace will shut off automatically.
Metal: • Buff using a soft cloth, slightly dampened with a citrus oil-based product. • DO NOT use brass polish or household cleaners as these products will damage the metal trim. Glass: • Use a good quality glass cleaner and dry thoroughly with a paper towel or lint-free cloth. • NEVER use abrasive cleansers, liquid sprays, or any cleaner that could scratch the surface. Vents: • Use a vacuum or duster to remove dust and dirt from the heater and vent areas.
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE COMMON PROBLEMS COMMON PROBLEMS There is no power. Make sure the power cord is plugged into a working 120V AC electrical outlet. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. If the unit had been working, but then turned off by itself, the temperature limiting control must be reset. Please see instructions on Page 6. The control panel doesn’t work. Make sure the power switch on the control panel is turned on. The flame effect does not work.
