1. Operation
TheSynapNetNodeisdesignedtoworkinconjunctionwitha
SynapNetGatewaydeviceandtheSynapSoftconsole.Pleasebesure
youhavecorrectlyconfiguredSynapSoftonthegatewaycomputerprior
tocontinuing.
SynapNetnodescanbeaddedtoanexistingSynapSenseWireless
Network(drivenbyaSynapNetGateway)
orbeusedtoformanetwork.
NotethatbatterylifewillbecompromisediftheSynapNetNodeisnot
inrangeofanactivegatewaydeviceorotherSynapNetNodewhichis
partofarunningnetwork.
Installingexternalantenna:
a. Removetheantennafromthepackaging,makingsurethe
threadedbaseoftheantennaisclearofanydebris.
b. Screwtheantennaintotheantennaportonthetopofthe
deviceviathemetalbaseinaclockwisedirectionuntilitis
snug.Donotusea
wrenchorotherhigh‐torquetoolto
tighten.
Replacingbatteries:
a. TurnOn/OffSwitchtoOffposition(torightwhenfacing
switch)
b. Removethebatterycover(forRemoteGateway2,thetop
coverofthehousingisremovedviathe4screwsinthe
bottomsideofthecase).
c. Removeoldbatteries,disposeofperlocalcode.Contact
SynapSenseifproperrecyclingisnotavailable.
d. Insertthebatteriesintothemarkedpositionsinthe
orientationdisplayedbythe+or–markingsonthedevice
nearthebatterytray(forThermaNode,thebatterypolarity
markingisontheinsideofthebatterylid).
