1 Chapter Before You Start Thank you for purchasing this Synology product! Before setting up your new adapter card, please check the package contents to verify that you have received the items below. Also, make sure to read the safety instructions carefully to avoid harming yourself or damaging your adapter card. Note: All images below are for illustrative purposes only, and may differ from the actual product.

Safety Instructions Keep away from direct sunlight and from chemicals. Make sure the environment does not experience abrupt changes in temperature or humidity. Place the product right side up at all times. Do not place near any liquids. Before cleaning, unplug the power cord. Wipe with damp paper towels. Do not use chemical or aerosol cleaners. To prevent the unit from falling over, do not place on carts or any unstable surfaces. The power cord must plug in to the correct supply voltage.
2 Chapter Hardware Setup Tools and Parts for Installation • A PH1 screwdriver (for adding M.2 SSD to E10M20-T1 adapter card) • A PH2 screwdriver (for replacing the bracket) Attach M.2 SSD to E10M20-T1 Adapter Card Please refer to www.synology.com/compatibility to make sure your Synology NAS supports E10M20-T1 adapter card before attaching it. For the instructions on how to install the E10M20-T1 to your Synology NAS, please refer to the Hardware Installation Guide of your NAS. To attach M.
b Insert SNV3400-400G into the slot. Make sure the card is fully inserted. c Tighten SNV3400-400G with a screw. d Repeat previous three steps if installing another M.2 SSD is needed. Slots are numbered as shown below. 1 2 e Remove the protective film from the thermal pad and attach the thermal pad to the heatsink.
f Tighten the heatsink with four screws. Please make sure the heatsink is firmly attached to the adapter card to ensure the smooth running of the M.2 SSD. • For M.2 22110 SSD (SNV3500-400G): a Insert SNV3500-400G into the slot. Make sure the card is fully inserted. b Tighten SNV3500-400G with a screw.
c Remove the protective film from the thermal pad and attach the thermal pad to the controller of SNV3500400G. Attach the rubber next to the screw pillar. d Repeat previous three steps if installing another M.2 SSD is needed. Slots are numbered as shown below. 1 2 e Tighten the heatsink with four screws. Please make sure the heatsink is firmly attached to the adapter card to ensure the smooth running of the M.2 SSD.
3 Replace the low-profile bracket with a full-height bracket if needed. a Remove the screws that secure the low-profile bracket. b Tighten the full-height bracket with two screws.
