IMO DVP E

FAN TYPE DVP
SUMMARY OF ASSEMBLY AND MAINTENANCE
1 Conditions and guarantees
of function
The user must respect the
conditions of use for which the
ventilator was supplied
(temperature, maximum speed
and atmosphere).
2 Transport – handling
and stocking
Upon delivery, check the
number and condition of
the parts. In the case of
missing or damaged parts,
send all details to the
haulage contractor by
registered post within two
days. Also, give notice to
the supplier.
Manipulate the ventilator
with precaution. To lift by
ring bolt when the ring
bolt are planned for this
use, otherwise use one
strap in belting the body.
Avoid impacts which may
damage the parts or
compromise the
equilibrium of the turbine.
If the ventilator undergoes even
a slight distortion repairs will
be necessary and the apparatus
will have to be re-equilibrated.
Store the ventilator inside
(preferably in its original
wrapping) to shelter from
rain, dust and other
impacts. If it is to be stored
for a long period, run the
rotor motor for a fraction
of the tour every fifteen
days.
3 PRECAUTIONARY
MEASURES
3.1 Before installation
It is always preferable to check
the points below before
installation rather than after, to
avoid difficulty in assembling
and therefore loss of time.
Be sure that the material is
well suited to the intended
use (diameter, number of
blades and speed, above all
in the case of multiple
deliveries or the recovery
of material left for another
use.
Be sure that the electric
characteristics of the motor
are compatible with the
tension of supply and the
start mode expected
(above all in the case of
multiple deliveries or the
recovery of a material left
for another use).
Check that the resistance
of the insulation of the
wind up motor. This must
not be less than 1000 per
volt of the tension used
with a minimum of 4 to
500.000, if this value is not
attained, dry the motor
(openings clear) in a local
well heated, if necessary
by electric heating or a
steam-room after
dismantling. Often it will
be sufficient to leave the
motor to empty with
ventilation closed for a
few hours.
Check manually that the
turbine turns freely and
without knocks.
Check that the turbine
turns in the direction of the
arrows placed on the
collar/hoop/sleeve, the
direction of the circulation
of air is this way.
3.2 Once installed
The ventilators fan type
DVP are normally
enclosed in a network of
casing or placed at the end
of the network. They are
assembled at the casing of
the ventilation either by
straps or by a flexible
connection.
The casing must not in any
case be supported by the
ventilator; this could exert
constraints resulting in
inadvisable distortions of
the body. It must be
directly supported by the
collars and the appropriate
supports.
If possible insert a flexible
connection between the
ventilators and casing.
When the ventilator is
placed on a chair or a
metallic frame, it is
recommended to insert
elastic studs between the
ventilator and the frame.
3.3 Electrical Connection
Use a safety device to protect
the motor against overloading
or the working of the mono-
phase (in the case of the tri-
phase supply). Consult the
diagram placed inside the box
