4.3.3 Checking the heat exchanger
After a long time of use dust may build up in the exchanger and block the airflow. It is important to clean the exchanger
regularly (once a year) to maintain high efficiency. The heat exchanger can be taken out of the unit for maintenance
(figure 5).
Danger
Risk of personal injury! The heat exchanger is heavy. There is a risk that the heat exchanger falls out of
the unit.
Make sure to use proper lifting device or sufficient number of persons to lift the exchanger out of the
unit.
The heat exchanger is sensitive for impacts. Handle with care.

1 Remove the water trap from the back side of the unit.
Open the door using the enclosed handles, push back
the door to be able to unhook the two carabiners.
Lower the door carefully. Open the hatch by removing
the 4 screws.
2 Loosen the bolts to the rails (pos 1) that holds the ex-
changer and pull the rails slightly to the side.
3 Remove the sealing (pos 2) between the exchangers.
Remove the exchanger (pos 3) be careful to not
drop it and causing personal injury or damage the
exchanger.
Wash in hot soapy water or use pressure air. Do not use detergent containing ammonia. Mount the exchanger after
cleaning, attach the hatch, close the doors and fasten the safety wires.
