1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION Description & Certification 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 1.5 The supplier shall provide a vertical classroom unit ventilator with an up-flow design. An exterior wall-mounted unit will not be acceptable. A Changeair unit ventilator manufactured by Systemair Commercial AHU Ltd. shall be complete and factory finished.

Insulation shall be UL Classified to meet minimum Fire Hazard Classification ratings of 25 Flame Spread Index and 50 Smoke Developed Index; compliant to 25/50 when tested to ASTM E84, UL 723, and CAN/ULC S102. OR b. Non-fibrous Insulation: Cabinet panels shall be thermally/acoustically insulated with a minimum 1” (2.54cm) thick, fiber-free, low density, foam insulation.

Heating 2.2 a. Hot Water Coil: The unit shall be supplied with a hot water coil constructed of seamless drawn copper tubes mechanically expanded into die-formed fin collars of tempered, corrugated aluminum fin stock, assuring a positive bond for optimal heat transfer and the prevention of electrolytic action. The coil shall be supplied with a manual air vent and drain plug. The coil shall be sized to provide the required heating capacity as shown in the schedule.

OR b. Electric Heat Elements: i. Two-Stage: The unit shall be equipped with two-stage electric resistance heating to provide the total heating requirements at the input voltage per the schedule. Each coil will be energized independently on a demand for heat from the two-stage thermostat or unit controller. OR ii. SCR Control: The unit shall be equipped with SCR controlled electric resistance heating to provide the total heating requirements at the input voltage per the schedule.

Energy Recovery Component (If applicable) 2.10 Enthalpy Wheel (ERW) • The 2” deep recovery component shall incorporate a rotary wheel in an insulated G90 galvanized metal cassette frame complete with seals, drive motor and drive belt. The energy recovery wheel shall be coated with silica gel desiccant permanently bonded. The substrate shall be constructed of durable synthetic lightweight polymer.

c. Face & Bypass Damper • The unit ventilator shall be equipped with a dual-acting, low leakage parallel blade face and bypass damper. The damper modulation shall allow a percentage of mixed air to pass through the face of the coils or bypassing them. • The frame and blades shall be constructed of extruded aluminum with blade design being an airfoil shape, operated by zero maintenance, and concealed linkage. 3/8” aluminum axles bolted to the blades shall operate on polycarbonate bearings.

Relief fan (If applicable) 3.4 Relief motor fan assembly shall consist of one fan to supply the specified cfm. Fan body shall be a double inlet centrifugal type blower. 7. (OPTIONAL) ACCESSORIES Exterior Louvers and Wall Sleeve 7.1 An exterior, weather-resistant louver shall be (2” OR 4” deep) aluminum with a standard powder coat paint finish from the manufacture’s standard color list (Bronze OR Gray) OR standard finish (Clear anodized OR Mill finish). Louver shall be lined with ½” galvanized bird screen mesh. Louver size and design shall be matched to the model to provide proper ventilation air intake ensuring no water ingress and room air exhaust. 7.
