1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION Description & Certification 1.1 1.2 The supplier shall provide a vertical classroom unit ventilator with an up-flow design. An exterior wall-mounted unit will not be acceptable. A Changeair unit ventilator manufactured by Systemair Commercial AHU Ltd. shall be complete and factory finished.

ASTM E84, have a UL94 V0/HF-1 flame rating and CAN/ULC S102. Blowing agents used in the manufacture of the foam shall have a low Global Warming Potential (GWP) and be accepted within the regulations outlined in the EPA SNAP Rule 21 and 22 programs. Air Distribution 1.8 A duct collar 24” x 12” is supplied with the unit ventilator for connection of ductwork. Static of external ducting and ceiling diffusers should be within 0.1” to 0.5” ESP.

OR c. High-Efficiency Gas Furnace: The unit shall be supplied with the Changeair GHM9 - Gas Heating Module designed specifically for installation downstream of the unit ventilator. It shall be for up-ﬂow, indoor applications and engineered specifically and primarily for classroom and light commercial utilization. Residential type furnaces will not be accepted and not for residential usage. The heating module shall be certified to ANSI Z21.47 / CSA 2.

Chilled water Freeze Protection: i. ii. iii. iv. No Freeze protection. OR Each unit shall be equipped with a freeze sensor Snap Disc to prevent the hot water from freezing due to an abnormal drop in the discharge air temperature. OR c. Future Cooling: The unit shall be provided with coil supports and a drain pan for future installation of either chilled water OR DX coil. Secondary Cooling Coil for Dehumidification (Dehumidification Units Only -If Applicable) 2.4 a. Dehumidification Chilled Water Coil: The unit shall be supplied with a second chilled water coil dedicated to dehumidify the incoming outside air only.

2.6 (OPTIONAL) Condensate Pump: The unit shall be provided with the Condensate pump consisting of a 3/8” OD discharge adapter size and designed to remove condensate from the drain pan. The pump shall be mounted on the rubber feet to damp the vibrations. Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) – (If applicable) 2.7 The manufacturer shall provide the unit ventilator that can be integrated directly with the customer provided (LG/Daikin/Mitsubishi/ Samsung) VRF components.

Energy Recovery Component (If applicable) 2.11 a. Enthalpy Wheel (ERW) • The 2” deep recovery component shall incorporate a rotary wheel in an insulated G90 galvanized metal cassette frame complete with seals, drive motor and drive belt. The energy recovery wheel shall be coated with silica gel desiccant permanently bonded. The substrate shall be constructed of durable synthetic lightweight polymer.

• The dampers shall be modulated by a Belimo spring return damper actuator with a minimum torque of 18 in/lb. The actuator must provide proportional damper control in response to input of 2 to 10 VDC. Actuators shall use a brushless DC motor controlled by a microprocessor and be protected from overload at all angles of rotation. OR b. Powered Relief Ventilation (VPS) • • • The outside air damper shall be a low leakage parallel blade design.

5.6 (OPTIONAL) Parts and Labor Warranty: a. Together with parts only warranty the manufacture shall cover labor for replacement of approved parts at the standard labor rate and time as per the flat rate time chart supplied by the manufacturer. This optional parts and labor warranty shall be for a period of (One OR Two OR Three) year(s). OR b. The manufacturer shall supply a limited Two (2) OR Five (5) years warranty on parts only. 5.

• • The controller must also be able to run standalone and occupancy determined by an internal weekly and annual schedule. The room interface shall be supplied with the controller, that can be wall OR unit mounted. This sensor will sense the temperature in the room and provide an operator interface with limited programming adjustments and over-rides. Shroud, Plenums and Pipe chase 7.3 Top Duct Cover: A 3 sided, non-insulated cosmetic top duct cover shall be included with each unit ventilator. The cover shall be constructed of heavy 18-gauge steel with textured powder coat painted finish to match the unit ventilator. The top duct cover height shall be standard 20” OR 30” that can be cut down to be 2” to 3” above the suspended ceiling height. 7.4 Top plenum: A 5 sided, insulated plenum shall be included with each ventilator.
