Appendix D. Importing and Exporting Files
Using SYSTRAN Dictionary Manager's (SDM’s) Import feature, you can open
dictionaries created with a spreadsheet application, such as Microsoft Excel, or a
common text editor. These dictionaries must be specifically formatted before they can
be imported into SDM. This appendix describes how to format these dictionaries.
Importing Formatted Text Files
Text files that are to be imported as dictionaries must contain dictionary content and
document headers. Some headers are necessary for importation into SDM, while
others are optional.
All of the headers serve as precursors to raw information — which follows an =
symbol — that is pertinent to the User Dictionary (UD). The table below identifies the
required fields (as well as optional fields) that formatted text files must include to be
imported successfully into SDM,.
