The freezing time may be longer in a combination refrigerator/freezer.

To make serving stored ice cream easier, remove from the freezer about 5–10 minutes beforehand and store in the refrigerator to allow it to soften slightly.

Add powdered sugar and lemon juice; mix well. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour. Remove from refrigerator and mash strawberries with a fork. Return to refrigerator until ready to use. • Pour cold cream into a mixing bowl and beat to soft peaks with a mixer.
