Phillips Screwdriver 1 - Billet Insert (18 bars)
Die Grinder w/ Cut-Off Wheel 8 - #8 Phillips Screws
File or Sandpaper 8 - #8 Flat Nuts
Drill & 1/8” Drill Bit
Vise Grips (4)
Matte Black Spray Paint
Read and understand instructions before attempting installation
Step 1.
Take special note to the alignment of the grille shell on the hood. Remove the grille shell from the vehicle. Apply
masking tape to the outer chrome or painted area to prevent scratching.
Step 2.
Cut the center out of the grille shell as shown by the shaded area in the diagram below. Do not cut off the hood
latch mount completely (cut to the shape shown). Carefully cut around the mounting studs on each end leaving
them intact. File the edges smooth. To hide the cut edge, apply a coat of black spray paint to the inner lip; Let dry.
Step 3.
Place the insert in the shell. Make sure the insert is centered and hold firmly in place. Make sure the ends of the
bars do not contact the inner edge of the shell. Using vise grips, clamp the four outer mounting tabs to hold the
billet insert in place. Make sure it is centered; Drill a 1/8” hole at each mounting tab. Fasten the insert to the shell
using the hardware.
Step 4.
Re-install the grille shell on the vehicle. Carefully align the shell to the hood in the same alignment it was removed.
Tighten the hardware. Installation is now complete. Thank you for purchasing a T-Rex Billet Grille.
