Follow these instructions when installing Taco’s optional 554-1 Wireless
Remote Kit.
WIRELESS REMOTE KIT OPTION – MODEL #554-1
Wiring the Receiver:
The optional remote receiver kit is the white rectangular box with the three protruding
wires (black, red, and green). Batteries are not required. Wire the black and green receiv-
er wires directly to the corresponding wires on the controller by twisting each same col-
ored wire together with the gray wire nuts provided. Wire the red wire on the receiver to
the white wire from the controller by twisting them together with the gray wire nut pro-
vided. The receiver should be mounted toward the front of the cabinet (range of the
transmitter is about 70’). If the transmitter will activate the pump from a short distance,
but not from further away, the receiver may need to be relocated for better reception.
Strapping the receiver to the front of the drain trap facing outward will optimize reception.
