Store the control solution tightly closed at temperature below 30°C (86°F) and do not refrigerate.
NOTE! The control solution range printed on the test strip vial is for
appropriately branded control solution only. It is used to test meter and
test strip performance. It is not the recommended range for your blood
glucose level.
HOW TO DO A CONTROL SOLUTION TEST?
Step 1. Insert a Test Strip
Insert a test strip with contact bars end first and facing up into the test slot. (Contact bars must be
inserted all the way into the meter or you may get an inaccurate test result.) The meter turns on
automatically. The screen will display a “CH” and “ ” first, then the ambient temperature
next and finally a code number will appear on the display with the “ ” symbol. Be sure the code
number on the display matches the code number on the test strip vial. If the code numbers do not
match, please refer to the “Calibration” section above for the correct code selection.
After the “ ” symbol appears on the display, press the Left Soft Button to allow for the screen to
display CTL. With CTL on the screen, the meter will not store your test result in memory. If you decide
not to perform a control solution test, press the Left Soft Button and the CTL screen will disappear.
NOTE! Every time you perform a control solution test, you must enter into
the “CTL test mode so that the test result will not be stored in the meter
memory.
