Dialingascanorvotinggroupmaybeavailablefromtheradio’sidledisplaybutisalwaysavailablewhileintheChan-
nelsmenu.
Todialthegroupnumberfromthedefaultdisplay:
1.Dialthenumberassociatedwiththescanorvotinggroupusingthealphanumerickeys.
2.PressSelect,andtheprogrammedscanorvotinggroupisnowshownonthedisplay.Thescanningicon
appearsonthedisplay.
Understanding Talkgroups
ThisfeatureisavailableforDMRdigitalchannelsonly.
Atalkgroupisacollectionofradiouserswithwhomtohaveprivateconversations.Forexample,astate'spublic
safetyagenciescouldhavethefollowingtalkgroups:
•Localtalkgroups—usedbyaspecificagencytocommunicatewithintheirownlocalagency.Itmayevenbe
madeupofacountyofpublicsafetyofficers.
•Regionaltalkgroups—usedbylargestateagenciesthathaveregionaldivisions.
