Removing the battery
Do not change the battery in a hazardous location. An explosion could cause ser-
ious injury or death.
Thebatteryissecuredtotheradiobyabatterycatchintheradio’srearpanel.
Toremovethebatteryfromtheradiosothatthebatterycanbechargedorreplaced:
1.Rotatethepower/volumecontrolswitchcounterclockwisetoturnofftheradio.
Ifthebatteryhasbeenremovedwhiletheradioisturnedon,turntheradiooffandthenonagainbefore
use.
2.Slidethebatterycatchup.
3.Fromthesides,pull(tilt)thetopendofthebatteryawayfromtheradio.
4.Liftthelugsatthebottomofthebatteryupwardsoutofthematingfeaturesatthebottomoftheradio
body.
Attaching the antenna
Beforeusingtheradio,screwtheantennaclockwiseintotheantennaconnector.Theantennashouldbescrewedsuf-
ficientlytightsothatitdoesn’tunscreweasily.Thisisimportantasitcreatesaseal.
