Turning the Radio On and Off

Whentheradioisfirstturnedon,thestatusLEDbrieflyglowsred,andtheradiogivestwoshortbeeps.
Theradiomaynotturnonifitsbatteryisverylow.SeeLowBatteryWarning.
Security lock on power-up feature
Yourradiomaybeautomaticallylockedeachtimeitispowered-up.IfthemessageEnter PINappearsonthedisplay,
enteryourassignedPIN(personalidentificationnumber).See"TurningtheRadioOnandOff"abovebelow.
Locking the radio
1.PressMenuandselectRadio settings>Functions>Lock radio.(Dependingonhowyourradioispro-
grammed,youmaybeabletopressafunctionkeytoturnradiolockonandoff.)
2.ScrolltoeitherOnorOffandpressSelect.(Thecurrentsettingishighlighted.)Theradioisnowlocked,
andthemessageEnter PINappearsonthedisplay.Theradioremainslockeduntilthecorrectsequenceof
keysispressed.Ifyouforgettheunlocksequenceoryoudonotknowit,contactyourradioproviderforassist-
ance.

fourkeys).
