lightstheburner.Donottrytolighttheburnerbyhand.
B.BEFOREOPERATINGsmellallaroundtheapplianceareaforgas.Besuretosmellnextto
theoorbecausesomegasisheavierthanairandwillsettleontheoor.
WHATTODOIFYOUSMELLGAS
• Donottrytolightanyappliance.
• Donottouchanyelectricswitch;donotuseanyphoneinyourbuilding.
• Immediatelycallyourgassupplierfromaneighbor’sphone.Followthegassupplier’s
instructions.
• Ifyoucannotreachyourgassupplier,calltheredepartment.
C.Useonlyyourhandtoturnthegasshutoffvalve.Neverusetools.Ifthevalvewillnotturnby
hand,don’ttrytorepairit,callaqualiedservicetechnician.Forceorattemptedrepairmayresult
inareorexplosion.
D.Donotusethisapplianceifanyparthasbeenunderwater.Immediatelycontactaqualied
installerorserviceagencytoreplaceaoodedwaterheater.Donotattempttorepairtheunit!It
mustbereplaced!
1. STOP!Readthesafetyinformationaboveonthislabel.
2. Turnoffallelectricpowertotheappliance.
3. Donotattempttolighttheburnerbyhand.
4. Turnthegasshutoffvalvelocatedontheoutsideoftheunittotheclosedposition.
5. Waitve(5)minutestoclearoutanygas.Ifyouthensmellgas,STOP!Follow“B”inthe
safetyinformationaboveonthislabel.Ifyoudon’tsmellgas,gotothenextstep.
6. Turnthegasshutoffvalvelocatedontheoutsideoftheunittotheopenposition.
7. Turnonallelectricalpowertotheappliance.
8. Iftheappliancewillnotoperate,followtheinstructionsin“ToTurnOffGastoAppliance,”and
callyourservicetechnicianorgassupplier.
1. Turnoffallelectricpowertotheapplianceifserviceistobeperformed.
2. Turnthegasshutoffvalvelocatedontheoutsideoftheunittotheclosedposition.
