Capacity: 320 ampere continuous, 400 ampere maximum, when wired to National Electrical Code ampacity; 600 volts a.c.

Application: 4 jaw: 1 phase, 3 wire, 5 jaw: 1 or 3 phase, 3 wire, 7 jaw: 3 phase, 4 wire.

Enclosures: Constructed of galvannealed steel with polyester powder finish. All boxes have a ringless cover. All enclosures are NEMA type 3R.

Block Assembly: Glass fiber reinforced polyester plastic. High strength arc and track resistant.

Bypass: Lever-operated jaw release. Moving lever up closes bypass and unclamps meter blades. Bypass connection is completed before

meter blade is released, thus eliminating meter blade to jaw terminal arcing The cover cannot be replaced with the lever in the

bypassed position. Bypass capacity: 320 amperes continuous.

Terminals: 3/8” - 24 cold-headed zinc-plated steel studs with nuts and captive Belleville washers to accommodate various pressure type

lugs. The flat washer supplied must be installed directly beneath the Belleville washer.

Lugs: Six lugs are required for the HQ-4S mounting device, eight for HQ7S.

UL: All units are UL listed.

Safety Shield: Track resistant transparent polycarbonate insulating safety shield provides protection from accidental shorts and shocks.

Anti-Inversion An optional wire-type jaw insert (#H59676) can be used with HQ-4S to prevent inverted installation of Talon Class 320

Insert: single phase meters. The insert rejects normal width terminal blades, yet admits the Talon Class 320 narrower upper

right-hand blade. The insert is field-installable but cannot be removed in the field.

Hubs: Single, removable, gasketless hub, cover plate or hub opening only. Hubs and cover plate are interchangeable.
