Capacity: 320 ampere continuous, 400 ampere maximum, when wired to National Electrical Code ampacity: 600 volts.
Application: HQ-4D: 1 phase, 3 wire; HQ-5D: 1, 2, or 3 phase, 3 wire grounded or ungrounded; HQ-7D: 3 phase, 4 wire wye or 4 wire delta.
Enclosures: Constructed of 14 gauge galvannealed steel with polyester powder finish. Also available in 28” H x 16” W aluminum box or in
31-1/2” H x 18” W steel box upon request. When ordering specify “same as Cat. # 477xx-xx except...” All boxes have ringless
cover. All enclosures are NEMA type 3R.
Block Assembly: Glass fiber reinforced polyester plastic. High strength arc and track resistant.
Bypass: Lever-operated jaw release. Moving lever up closes bypass and unclamps meter. Meter blade to jaw terminal arcing is
eliminated. The cover cannot be replaced with lever in bypassed position. Bypass capacity: 320 ampere continuous.
Terminals: 1/2” cold-headed zinc-plated steel studs with nuts and captive Belleville washers to accommodate various pressure type lugs.
Supplied without lugs.
Lugs: Connection lugs are available for use with these mounting devices. Recommended lugs are type #60162, which handle single
conductor up to 600 MCM or two conductors up to 250 MCM.
UL: HQ-4D, HQ-5D and HQ-7D mounting devices are listed by UL for use on loads up to 320 ampere continuous, 600 volts a.c.
Safety Shield: Track resistant transparent polycarbonate insulating safety shield and fiber insulating barriers provide protection from accidental
shorts and shocks.
Anti-Inversion A wire-type jaw insert (#59676) can be used with HQ-4D to prevent inverted installation of Type MS-E single phase meters.
Insert: The insert rejects normal width terminal blades, yet admits the MS-E’s narrower upper right-hand blade. The insert is
field-installable but cannot be removed in the field.
Hubs: Single, removable, gasketless hub, cover plate or no hub. Hubs and cover plate are interchangeable.
