4. Verify Drive Firmware Update
a. In TDkit, click Device Overview and take a look at the label FW revision; below the
picture of the tape drive.
NOTE: Be aware that some tape drives do not report when flashing is finished. Wait 5
minutes before rebooting the StorageLibrary.
It is also possible to verify the drive’s FW version using either the StorageLibrary front panel or remote
management interface. The paths to open the appropriate screen are:
From the RMI, select Reports > Partitions
From the FPI, select Menu > Reports > Drive
Caution
Once the update process has started, you must wait until it completes. Do
NOT attempt to interrupt the process in any way, or loss of either data or
library operability could result.
