7 – Managing CF cards
Formatting CF cards quickly
Use
FORMAT (Quick
) to format a CF card in a short amount of
time.
Formatting a CF card erases all the data on it.
1. Press the CD/CF button to activate the CF card. The CF
indicator above the CD/CF button lights when it is active.
2. Press the MENU button to open the
MENU
screen.
3. Open the
CF
menu screen.
4. Select
FORMAT (Quick)
.
5. Press the DATA dial and a confirmation pop-up message
appears.
6. Press the DATA dial again to start formatting.
The words
--FORMAT--
and a progress bar appear in a
pop-up while the card is being formatted.
Select
•
n:menu
to cancel formatting.
7.. When formatting is complete, the pop-up disappears and
the Home Screen reopens.
Formatting CF cards (full format)
Use the
FORMAT (Full)
item to format a CF card completely.
Formatting a CF card will erase all the data on it.
Full formatting checks the CF card's memory for errors
while formatting, so the process takes more time than quick
formatting.
1. Press the CD/CF button to activate the CF card. The CF
indicator above the CD/CF button lights when it is active.
2. Press the MENU button to open the
MENU
screen.
3. Open the
CF
menu screen.
4. Select
FORMAT (Full)
.
5. Press the DATA dial and a confirmation pop-up message
appears.
6. Press the DATA dial again to start formatting.
The words
--FORMAT--
