7 – Internal Settings
Setting the SNTP function
Use the SNTP page to make settings for automatically synchro-
nizing with the date and time of an Internet time server.

SNTP STATUS
This shows the current status of the SNTP function.
Message Status
Sync at YYYY/MM/DD
hh:mm
The unit will be synchronized with
the NTP server at the date and time
shown.
Starting Up The unit is preparing for operation.
Accessing Server
The unit is connecting with a
server.
Disabled The SNTP function is disabled.
Waiting for Network
The unit is waiting to confirm the
network connection.
Server Name not found
The server name could not be
found on the DNS server.
Server Name found
The server name was found on the
DNS server.
Server connection failed The server has not responded.
Server refusing connec-
tions
Server responded, but is refusing
additional connections; select a
different SNTP server

SNTP UPDATE
This shows the setting status of the
MODE
item on the
SNTP
UPDATE
screen.
Select the
SNTP UPDATE
item, and press the MULTI JOG dial
to open the
SNTP UPDATE
screen.

Set the SNTP function update mode.
Options
Disable
(default): Do not use SNTP function.
Start Up
: When the unit starts up, get the time
from an NTP server and use it to set the built-in clock.
Start Up/24h cycle
: Get the time from an
NTP server and use it to set the built-in clock when the
unit starts up, as well as when the time set with the
UPDATE TIME
item occurs every 24 hours.
NOTE
When using the SNTP function, you must set the NTP Server
item and the
NETWORK
page
DNS SETUP
item.

NTP SERVER
This shows the setting status of the
NTP SERVER
screen.
Select the
NTP SERVER
item, and press the MULTI JOG dial
to open the
NTP SERVER
screen.
Edit the NTP server name, which must have no more
than 32 characters (default: ntp.nict.jp).
For details about how to edit the text, see “Editing text”
on page 26.
NOTE
Press the MULTI JOG dial on PRESET5 to open a pull up
menu.
Turn the MULTI JOG dial to select a menu item, and press
the MULTI JOG dial to input the preset value of that item.
Press the EXIT [PEAK CLEAR] button to close the pull-up
menu.

UPDATE TIME
This shows the setting status of the Time item on the
UPDATE
TIME
screen.
Select the
UPDATE TIME
item, and press the MULTI JOG dial
to open the
UPDATE TIME
screen.

If the

SNTP UPDATE
screen is set
to
Start Up/24h cycle
, set the time when the
time will be acquired from the NTP server.

23:00-23:09
(in
1-hour steps, default: “00:00-00:09”)
NOTE
Since access to SNTP servers on the hour could result in
congestion, the unit will access the SNTP server randomly
during the first 10 minutes of the hour.
