Safety warnings Intended use DANGER to children WARNING – risk of scalds/burns The Cafissimo POCKET is designed for brewing espresso using Tchibo-brand capsules. • The Cafissimo POCKET must not be used by children as there is an increased risk of burns and scalding. Keep children away from the product. Store the product out of the reach of children. • Always hold the Cafissimo POCKET upright while preparing coffee. The product is suitable for private use and is not suitable for commercial purposes.
• Screw the pump section onto the filled container carefully so that no hot water leaks or splashes out. • The water tank and capsule holder must be correctly and completely screwed on before pressing on the pump mechanism as otherwise hot liquid might spray out. • The coffee outlet must always be pointing downwards when pumping out the coffee. • Never drink the coffee directly out of the coffee outlet.
• Never heat up water in the water tank. Use a water kettle or pot, etc. to heat up the water. • Only use original Tchibo Cafissimo capsules. Use neither capsules from other manufacturers, nor damaged or deformed capsules, and never use loose coffee grounds as doing so would damage the Cafissimo POCKET. • Do not use any caustic, aggressive or abrasive products for cleaning. 4 • The drinking cup has a non-slip silicone sleeve.

Before using for the first time Before using for the first time, the Cafissimo POCKET must be cleaned and rinsed through with hot water. To do so, take the Cafissimo POCKET apart as illustrated in the section “At a glance (features)”. 1. Pull off the drinking cup. 2. Unscrew the capsule holder from the pump section by turning it clockwise. 3. Pull the capsule compartment out of the capsule holder. 6 4. Unscrew the water tank from the pump section by turning it anticlockwise. 5.
The finest aroma – the finest flavour Cleaning One capsule per cup 1. If necessary, wait until all parts have sufficiently cooled down. Each capsule makes a single portion of espresso for the cup in the device. 2. Take the Cafissimo POCKET apart as illustrated in the section “At a glance (features)”. Full aroma Only insert a capsule when you intend to use the device. The capsule is pierced when the capsule holder is screwed onto the pump section. If it is not used immediately, the aroma will fade.
1 Brewing coffee Click ! m Pull the drinking cup down and off.
2 m Unscrew the capsule holder clockwise and pull it down and off. Points for piercing capsule CAUTION – risk of injury There are two sharp points in the capsule compartment. These points pierce the capsule when the capsule holder is screwed onto the pump section. Never touch the points.
3 m Insert a Cafissimo coffee capsule as illustrated with the lid upwards.
4 1. Place the pump section onto the capsule holder. 2. Screw the capsule holder on anticlockwise again until tight. This will pierce the capsule.
5 m Unscrew the water tank anticlockwise and pull it up and off.
WARNING – risk of scalds due to hot water 6 Mark Do not fill the water tank to the rim. The mark inside the container must not be exceeded as otherwise hot water could leak out when you screw the pump section onto the container. 1. Place the water tank on an even, level surface. 2. Fill the water tank up to the mark with freshly boiled drinking water.
7 WARNING – risk of scalds due to hot water Screw the section with the pump mechanism carefully onto the filled water tank so that no hot water can splash out. m Hold the water tank firmly with one hand and with your other hand, screw the section with the pump mechanism onto the water tank until firmly and fully in place.
8 m Turn the Cafissimo POCKET upside down so that the water tank is on top and the coffee outlet is facing downwards. Make sure that no water leaks out.
9 m Turn the pump mechanism anticlockwise as far as it will go. The pump mechanism pops out.
10 1. Hold the Cafissmo POCKET over the drinking cup as illustrated. 2. Press the pump mechanism approx. 20 to 30 times until no more espresso comes out of the coffee outlet. • The pump mechanism must be pushed in and out all the way each time. • Water is pumped into the capsule for the first 12 to 15 times. After that point, espresso will come out of the coffee outlet.
11 m Press the pump mechanism all the way back in and then turn it clockwise as far as it will go.
