Restriction on the Use of Hazardous Substances
TE Connectivity will support your RoHS requirements. We’ve assessed more than 1.5 million
end items/components for RoHS compliance, and issued new part numbers where required in
the process of eliminating the restricted materials. All part numbers in this catalog are RoHS
compliant. These products comply with European Union Directive 2002/95/EC as amended
1 January 2006 that restricts the use of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBB,
and PBDE in certain electrical and electronic products sold into the EU as of 1 July 2006.
NOTE: For purposes of this catalog, included within the definition of RoHS Compliant are:
l Products that are clearly “Out of Scope” of the RoHS Directive such as hand tools
and other non-electrical accessories.
l Products that contain lead in solderable interfaces (they do not contain any of the
other five restricted substances above allowable limits). However, these products
are covered by an application-based exception for lead in solders, such as the
server, storage, or networking infrastructure exemption of the same directive.

Universal Connectivity Platform
Rack eciency and multiple media deployment
The Universal Connectivity Platform (UCP) is designed todeliver rack efficiency and multiple
media deployment. It comprises a versatile range of components that include patch panels,
subfloor panel and overhead panel mounts, pre-terminated links and adaptor modules. One
common patch panel, either angled or flat, is used to accommodate both copper and fiber,
and the units can be installed within or outside the 19-inch envelope. Side mounting brackets
maximize usable space along the vertical posts of the rack system, while adaptive mounting
brackets can be used strategically above and below the racks.
The UCP accepts pre-terminated copper assemblies, fiber cassettes and MRJ21 high density
copper connectivity cassettes, for faster deployment and high reliability. It is also fully
compatible with TE Connectivity’s AMPTRAC managed connectivity solution.
Products which can be used inside the Universal Connectivity Platform are marked with the
UCPCompatible seal.
