The following crimp nests are recommended for use with the hand tool:

1.5 – 2.5 mm² 4
4.0 – 6.0 mm² 5
The crimping tool must only be used for repair purposes or for making samples, and not
for series production.
Operational environment
The hand tool must only be used in a dry and dust-free environment. Do not use the hand
tool in environments with a gas atmosphere.
3.2 Foreseeable misuse
The hand tool 8-1579024-6 must only be used for the purpose described above. Use for
any other purpose is considered improper and is deemed to be misuse.
This applies in particular to:
 outer diameters of wires larger than 6 mm²
 inadmissible tool-product combinations
 possible use in a fixed device
 crimping of live wires
3.3 Safety measures
3.3.1 General
The hand tool must only be used for the intended purpose.
The hand tool must only be used by trained and authorised personnel.
3.3.2 Safety measures during operation
The crimping tool must only be used in technically perfect condition and with full aware-
ness of safety aspects and potential dangers. When the crimping tool is considered to be
no longer safe to use, it must be taken out of service.
Never crimp live wires.
Wear eye protection when using the crimping tool. Failure to follow this instruction may
result in serious eye injuries from flying particles.
The relevant processing specification must be observed when using the tool.
