Windows2000/ME/XP/Vista
This player is plug & play for WIN2000/XP/ME/Vista OS.
Windows98SE
Under Windows98SE drivers have to be installed. Do not connect
the unit to your computer before the installation of the driver is fin-
ished. Insert the provided CD into your CDROM drive or download
the driver from our web site. Double click on SETUP.EXE and follow
the instructions on the screen. Connect the MP-266 and the PC
with the provided USB cable after finishing the installation.
Connect to a PC
To connect the player with the PC for transferring files:
Plug the larger end of the USB cable to the USB port of the PC, and
plug the smaller end to the USB port of the player.
For Windows98SE/ME/2000
When the “
” icon appears at the right bottom of the PC screen,
double click “My Computer” on the desktop, you see a removable
disk which indicates the player. This is called the USB standard
mode, also the Media Storage Class mode (MSC mode). Just use
the removable disk as a regular local disk, copying files from or to it.
For Windows XP (with Media Player 10 or above)/Windows Vista
It is only in this configuration that the Media
Transport Protocol mode (MTP mode) is avail-
able. In the player MTP mode is set with
Settings/USB Mode/MTP Mode. The player is
recognized as an “Audio Player” and follow-
ing is displayed:
To switch from the MTP mode to MSC mode,
press the
button on the player. The Player now exists as a
removable disc in the My Computer.
