Before Using Charging the Battery The device has a rechargeable built-in lithium ion battery. It is charged via USB connection. You are required to charge it when you use it for the first time. To charge the battery, connect the larger end of the USB cable to the USB interface of PC, and connect the other smaller end of the USB cable to the USB interface of this player. The device is connected to PC and being charged. A battery icon like will be displayed at the upper right corner of the screen.
Driver Windows2000/ME/XP/Vista This player is plug & play for WIN2000/XP/ME/Vista OS. Windows98SE Under Windows98SE drivers have to be installed. Do not connect the unit to your computer before the installation of the driver is finished. Insert the provided CD into your CDROM drive or download the driver from our web site. Double click on SETUP.EXE and follow the instructions on the screen. Connect the MP-277 and the PC with the provided USB cable after finishing the installation.
Removing the Player From the PC Safely For Windows2000/ME/XP/Vista 1. Left click the icon at the right hand corner of the taskbar. 2. Click the pop-up mini-window with message of “Safely Remove the USB Mass Storage Device – Drive (X)”. 3. When you are prompted to remove the device, pull out the player. Reset function If the player can’t be used normally for some reasons (should not happen in normal operation), please use a small cylindrical plastic stick to reset the player. Lyrics This player supports the lyrics function of MP3 playback. Important Lyrics file format has to be *.LRC. File name has to be the same as the songs name. Lyrics file has to be placed in the folder of the song. Playing voice Press and hold the button to display the Main menu. Use the or button to select “Voice”, and press the button to enter voice mode. For detail information about playing, see the “Basic Operation” section.
Operation in FM mode Press and hold the button to display the Main menu. Use the or button to select “FM Radio”, and press the button to enter radio mode. Volume Battery Frequency Stations Sound track 1. Press the Play button to change mode between the Preset and Manual mode. Press and hold this button to exit FM mode and return to the Main menu. 2. Press the or button to choose stations which have been saved in the Preset mode or to adjust the frequency in the Manual mode.
Radio Data System RDS, or the Radio Data System, is a system by which useful information can be transmitted to a tuner or receiver. This player supports PS, RT and Time in Scan mode but not in Preset mode. PS: Program service. This is the name of the station currently tuned to. For example, if you were listening to Radio 2 on a suitablyequipped radio, the frequency in the display would be replaced by _BBC_R2_. If Classic FM were tuned in, the display would switch from the frequency to CLASSIC_.
How to convert video to MTV format 1. Select MTVVideoConverter and double click it to enter the folder. 2. Select and double click VideoConvert.exe program in the se- lected folder to enter. 3. Click “Input Video” to select the files that need to be converted. You can set the size and quality at the same time. The screen resolution of this player is 128x160 pixels, please set the size equal or less than 128x160 pixels. The higher quality produces larger file size and vice versa.
Viewing Photos To view photos: 1. Press and hold the button to display the Main menu. 2. Use the or button to select “Photo” and press the button to confirm. 3. Press the V+ or V– button to select a folder or image, and press to confirm. 4. Press the button or Power button / to return the previous menu. 5. During playback, press the FUNC button to enter to its submenu which contains Slide Show and Manual Scan. For Slide Show, the photos are played in sequence.
Deleting Files 1. Press and hold the button to display the Main menu. 2. Use the or button to select “Delete” and press the but- ton to confirm. 3. Press the V+ or V– button to select a folder or a file. 4. Press the FUNC button to display the confir- mation menu. 5. Press the V+/V– button to choose “Yes” or “No”. 6. Press the button to return to the submenu. 7. Press the button to confirm the deletion. 8. Press and hold the Play button to open the Main menu.
Customizing Settings To customize the player settings: 1. On the Main menu, select the “Settings” item and press the button to enter the system settings mode. 2. DRM function (for players with DRM support only) Important: Download operation of WMA music files with DRM10 protection On Windows XP, music with DRM10 should be transferred by Windows Media Player 10.0 version to player. If DRM10 files are not transferred correctly to the player the corresponding music files cannot be played. So use the download procedure described above. Operation introductions: On Windows XP, user should upgrade to Windows Media Player version 10.0.
