Before Using Charging the Battery The device has a rechargeable built-in lithium ion battery. It is charged via USB connection. You are required to charge it when you use it for the first time. To charge the battery, connect the larger end of the USB cable to the USB interface of PC, and connect the other smaller end of the USB cable to the USB interface of this player. The device is connected to PC and being charged. A battery icon like will be displayed at the upper right corner of the screen.
Driver Windows2000/ME/XP/Vista This player is plug & play for WIN2000/XP/ME/Vista OS. Windows98SE Under Windows98SE drivers have to be installed. Do not connect the unit to your computer before the installation of the driver is finished. Insert the provided CD into your CDROM drive or download the driver from our web site. Double click on SETUP.EXE and follow the instructions on the screen. Connect the MP-480 and the PC with the provided USB cable after finishing the installation.
Loading files to the player To download the files from your computer, perform the following steps: Files that are not copy-protected 1. Open the Windows Explorer or My computer. 2. “Removable Disk” (MSC mode) or “Audio Player” (MTP mode) is displayed. 3. Select the files on your computer and simply move it into the “Removable Disk” or “Audio Player” in the usual way (drag-anddrop, or copy-and-paste). After copying is completed, the data will be available on the player.
Removing the Player From the PC Safely For Windows2000/ME/XP/Vista with MSC mode 1. Left click the icon at the right hand corner of the taskbar. 2. Click the pop-up mini-window with message of “Safely Remove the USB Mass Storage Device – Drive (X:, Y:)”. 3. When you are prompted to remove the device, pull out the player. For Windows98 and MTP mode Please make sure the data transfer is completed before unplugging the media player.

Reset function If the player can’t be used normally for some reasons (should not happen in normal operation), please use a small cylindrical plastic stick to reset the player. In this case the player should not be connected to the PC or an adapter.

Using microSD Card Slot After connecting the player to the computer, you will find two portable devices. One is the built-in memory device and the other one is the device associated to the microSD card. It enables you adding up to 8GB of additional memory to your player. The player supports direct playing of songs/videos on microSD cards. Remove the rubber cover to open the slot. Insert the microSD card into the slot with the label facing towards the display. Playing Music Touch and hold the button to display the Main menu. Use the g or h button to select “Music” menu, and touch the button to confirm selection. Now you are in the MUSIC mode, refer music playing to the basic operations.
Lyrics This player supports the lyrics function of MP3 playback. Important Lyrics file format has to be *.LRC. File name has to be the same as the songs name. Lyrics file has to be placed in the same folder of the song. Playing voice Touch and hold the button to display the Main menu. Use the g or h button to select “Voice”, and touch the button to enter voice mode. For detail information about playing, see the “Basic Operation” section.
Operation in FM mode Touch and hold the button to display the Main menu. Use the g or h button to select “FM”, and touch the button to enter radio playing mode. Volume Battery Frequency Stations Sound track g or h button to choose stations which have been saved in the Preset mode or to adjust the frequency in the Manual mode. Touch and hold these buttons to choose stations quickly in the Preset mode or change to auto scan in the Manual mode. 1.
Playing Videos 1. Touch and hold the button to display the Main menu. 2. Use the g or h button to select “Video” menu, and touch the button to enter the video player mode. i or j button to select a folder or a video file that you want to play, and touch the h button to play. For detail information about playing, see the “Basic Operation” section. 3. Touch the Videos can be played only if they are in MTV format. Therefore it is necessary to convert it with the MTVVideoConverter program.
5. When there is an “End of Conversion” window eject out, it means the conversion is finished. You may close the windows and upload the converted movie with MTV format to the player. Viewing Photos To view photos: 1. Touch and hold the button to display the Main menu. 2. Use the g or h button to select “Photo” and touch the button to confirm. 3. Warnings Low Battery The player will display "Low Battery" to warn users to change the battery. No File If there is no corresponding file in the player, the message "No File" will be displayed on the screen.
