®
Skill Set™ Glass Tile Mortar is for use installing glass
tile and mosaics. Mixed with water, it exceeds ANSI A118.4
and ANSI A118.11 specifications. Use interior and exterior.

Coverage
Coverage will vary with condition of substrate. Required
trowel size will vary with the tile size, type and substrate
uniformity. Select the trowel size that will ensure 100%
coverage. Figures below are presented only as guidelines.

Suitable Substrates
When properly prepared, suitable substrates include:
Gypsum wallboard
Water resistant gypsum wallboard (greenboard)
Cementitious backer units (CBU)
Glass mat backer board
Plastic laminate
Cured concrete, cured mortar beds, brick and
masonry
APA Grade Trademarked Exposure 1 Plywood
[CDX or better, two layers 1 1/8” total minimum
thickness, interior floors only]
Existing ceramic tile and natural stone, provided
existing flooring is well-bonded to an approved
substrate and primed with TEC® Skill Set™ Self-
Leveling Underlayment Primer
VOC 0 g/L
Glass Tile Mortar
Vinyl composition tile, asphalt tile, linoleum or non-
cushioned vinyl sheet goods (provided existing flooring is
well-bonded to an approved substrate)
Adhesive residue (except tacky or pressure-sensitive
adhesive)
Storage
Store in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight. Do not store
open containers.
Shelf Life
Maximum of 1 year from date of manufacture in unopened package.
Limitations
Glass tile may not be suitable over some substrates (such as
plywood, or some membranes). Verify substrate with the glass tile
manufacturer. Contact TEC® Skill Set™ Technical support before
installing glass with a decorative coating on the tile backing or glass
tile larger than 6” x 6” as these materials require more detailed
precautions. Not for use over rubber, strip wood floors, oriented
strand board, particle board, or lauan plywood. Do not apply over
single layer wood floors. Certain natural stone tiles may be affected
by mortar shadowing or staining. Test a small area prior to use to
determine suitability. If multiple bags from different lot numbers are
used to install glass tile, dry-mix the entire contents of the bags prior
to mixing with water to avoid color variation of the mortar.
Cautions
FIRST AID MEASURES: In all cases, seek medical attention if
symptoms develop or persist. EYES: Flush with water for 20
minutes. SKIN: Was with soap and water. IF VAPORS INHALED:
Remove to fresh air. IF SWALLOWED: Do not induce vomiting.
