SMS
Select [Message] from Main Menu, then press SMS to open a list of default Message folders:
“New”, “Inbox”, “Drafts”, “Outbox”, “Sent”, “Voice Mail”, “Settings”, and “Memory Status”.
Creating and Sending SMS
1. From Message, select SMS then select New.
2. Enter the number of the recipient in the ‘To:’ field using the phone keypad.
If the number is stored in the Contacts List, press [OK] then search predictively. (Pls. refer to
IMPORTANT note on the next paragraph.)
Alternatively, you can also press [LSK] then select Phone Book then mark one or more contacts to
send the message to, and then press [LSK] to go back to the SMS message screen.
(IMPORTANT: Your phone OS is designed for easier and faster name search approach (does not
apply in Find feature). While viewing contact list, it uses predictive character input up to 4 letters.
Example: To search for the contact name ‘JOHN’ in your Phone Book, simply press the [Number key 5]
once for ‘J’, the [Number key 6] once for ‘O’, the [Number key 4] once for ‘H’, and the [Number key 6]
once for ‘N’. This equates to just for 4 presses instead of the 8 presses for the same name search in
the traditional Multi-tap way.)
3. Press [Down navigation key] to move to Content: field
4. Press [OK] to open the text editor.
5. Compose your message using the phone keypad.
6. Press [OK] to go back to SMS message screen.
7. Press [OK] then select Send via SIM-1 or Send via SIM-2.
8. Press [OK] to send message.
After composing your message in Step (5), you may press [LSK] and select from the following edit options:
“Send”, “Phone Book”, “Edit content”, and “Save”.
- Send: When ready to send your composed message
- Phone book:
Access the Contacts List to select/edit/add the message recipient(s)
- Edit content: Go back to text editor to edit the content
- Save: Current message will be stored into Drafts folder
You can send your SMS to more than one recipient at one time. You can enter as many numbers in the To:
field with each entry separated by a semi-colon (;). You may also add multiple recipients or send to a
defined Group from the Contacts List.
