48 Configuring the iDRAC6 Using the Web Interface
Logging Out
1
In the upper-right corner of the main window, click
Logout
to close
the session.
2
Close the browser window.
NOTE: The Logout button does not appear until you log in.
NOTE: Closing the browser without logging out may cause the session to remain
open until it times out. It is strongly recommended that you click the logout button to
end the session; otherwise, the session may remain active until the session timeout
is reached.
NOTE: Closing the iDRAC6 Web interface within Microsoft Internet Explorer using
the close button ("x") at the top right corner of the window may generate an
application error. To fix this issue, download the latest Cumulative Security Update
for Internet Explorer from the Microsoft Support website, located at
support.microsoft.com.
CAUTION: If you have opened multiple Web GUI sessions either through <Ctrl+T>
or <Ctrl+N> to access the same iDRAC6 from the same management station, and
then log out of any one session, all the Web GUI sessions will be terminated.
Using Multiple Browser Tabs and Windows
Different versions of Web browsers exhibit different behaviors when opening
new tabs and windows. Microsoft Internet Explorer version 7 and version 8
have the option to open tabs and windows.
A tab inherits characteristics of a recently opened tab.
Press <Ctrl–T> to open a new tab from the active session and log in again.
Press <Ctrl–N> to open a new browser window from the active session. You
are logged in with already authenticated credentials.
Closing a tab expires all iDRAC6 Web interface tabs.
Also, if you log in with Power User privileges on one tab, and then log in as
Administrator on another tab, then privileges of the first log in is acquired on
both tabs.
Tab behavior for Mozilla Firefox 3 is same as Microsoft Internet Explorer
version 7 and version 8 .
