Your DIRECTV HD/ HD DVR receiver has been designed to meet the highest standards of quality and security. It is important
that you observe the following precautions to ensure safe use of the equipment. Do not disassemble the receiver.
CAUTION! SHOCK HAZARD
Shows that there is a dangerous voltage within the receiver and you could receive an electric shock if you
manipulate it.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, you must not expose the receiver to rain or moisture, nor to
dripping or splashing. You should not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases or cups on the receiver.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

5. Do not use this receiver near water.
6. Clean only with dry cloth.
7. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturers instructions.
8. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other devices (including
ampliers) that produce heat.
9. Protect the power cord and plugs.
10. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly plugs, convenience receptacles, and
the point where they exit from the receiver.
11. Unplug this receiver during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
12. Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with
the receiver. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/receiver combination to avoid
injury from tip-over.
13. Warning: Use only the power supply that came with your unit.
14. If the power supply needs to be replaced, please contact DIRECTV Customer Service for an
authorized replacement.
15. Do not try to change the security design of the polarized or grounding type plug. A polarized plug has one
wider than the other leg. A polarized plug has two blades and a rounded tip. The wide blade and rounded tip
were placed for safety. If the plug supplied with the equipment does not fit the outlet, contact an electrician
to replace the obsolete outlet.
