8.2d MAC Cloning
A MAC (Media Access Control) address is a unique hexadecimal code that identifies a device on a network. All
networkable devices have a MAC address. When replacing another network device with the TG590, the
installation process can be simplified by copying the MAC address of the existing networking device to the
TG590. To do this:
1. Click MAC Cloning under the red toolbox icon on the Advanced screen.
2. The “MAC Cloning” screen appears.
3. Enter the MAC address to be cloned in the “To Physical Address” text boxes.
4. Click Clone My MAC Address to capture the MAC address of the computer currently accessing the TG590’s
GUI. The TG590 will now have the new MAC address.
