REMOTE CONTROL OPERATION
A QUICK LOOK AT THE REMOTE CONTROL
OPERATING RANGE OF THE
REMOTE CONTROL
The remote control may not work properly if:
There are obstacles between the remote control and the
receiver’s remote sensor.
Direct sunlight or fluorescent light is shining onto the
remote sensor.
The receiver is located near a device that is emitting
infrared rays.
The receiver is operated simultaneously with another
infrared remote control.
BAND
/
— Selects AM or FM band
while in tuner mode. This button also begins
playback of Disc1 when in DVD/CD mode.
FM MODE
— Selects FM mono or stereo mode.
This button also begins playback
of Disc2 when in DVD/CD mode.
MEMORY
— Press to memorize the desired
station frequency. This button also begins
playback of Disc3 when in DVD/CD mode.
TUNING MODE
— Switches from tuning
to preset mode.
PRESET –
When in tuner mode, use + or -
to change frequency one step at
a time or to select preset stations.
When in DVD/CD mode, use to
select tracks.
MUTE
MUTE
— Press to
turn off the sound
level.

SLEEP
— Press to set the sleep time.
TONE
— Press to use tone on,
bass adjust, treble adjust or tone off.
Use or when adjusting BASS and TREBLE.
TEST TONE
MUSIC, THEATER, HALL, STADIUM or STEREO.
— Turns on or off the test tone func-
tion in DTS, DOLBY DIGITAL, or PRO LOGIC mode.
The test tone is output from Front L speaker, Cen-
ter speaker, Front R speaker, Surround R speaker,
Surround L speaker, (optional subwoofer speaker
when subwoofer is on).
SURROUND
— Repeatedly press to change the surround
mode to PRO LOGIC, PRO LOGIC II MOVIE, PRO LOGIC II

Use to change speaker settings
and adjust level and delay.
DVD FUNCTIONS
Important: If you change functions using the
function knob on the front of the receiver, you
must also press the corresponding function
button on the remote control to operate the
unit with the remote control.
VOLUME — Use to adjust volume.
FUNCTIONS — Use to select the desired function.
LEVEL AND NAVIGATION — Use to make menu
selections and to
adjust levels.
