Making candy floss
Recommendations
Only use pure granulated sugar or flavoured/coloured sugar
specially designed for candy floss when making your candy floss.
To make coloured candy floss you can also use edible powdered
food colouring to colour granulated sugar.
As Candyfloss is sticky and sugary, to avoid accidental damage to
furniture, carpets or other expensive household items, we advise
using the Candyfloss Maker in the kitchen.
Do not position the Candyfloss Maker near a fan or air conditioner
as the Candyfloss will not wind well.
• Set the switch to position “1” (F).
When using for the first time, a slight odour and smoke may be
produced for the first few minutes.
• Preheat the appliance while empty for approximately 5 minutes.
Switch off the appliance (position 0) (G) and let the extraction
head come to a complete stop.
• Place 1 to 1 1/2 spoonfuls of sugar in the centre of the extraction
head (H). The maximum amout of sugar is 1 1/2 spoonfuls.
Take care to distribute the sugar evenly in the well to avoid
spattering.
• Switch the appliance back on (position 1) (F).
• After 2 to 3 minutes, candy floss will start to form in the bowl.
• The melting sugar is hot and care should be taken when using the
appliance.
During use, keep your face and eyes away from the bowl, to
avoid any splattering of sugar.
Never put your head close to the bowl so as not to risk
having sugar spattered into your eyes.
Tips for making good candy floss
Hold the stick vertically and rotate around the inside of the bowl
until a fine layer of candy floss adheres to the stick (J).
Turn the stick horizontally above the bowl and rotate it quickly
above the bowl to shape your candy floss (K).
Switch off the appliance when you have finished making your
candy floss.
Before starting another candy floss, wait for the extraction head to
come to a complete stop and repeat the operation (H) (J) (K).
You do not have to clean the bowl between each candy floss
preparation. A ring of crystals may, however, form around the
bowl. These may be scrapped off using a plastic utensil. Do not use
a damp cloth to remove the sugar.
After use
• Switch off the appliance (position 0).
• Unplug the cord from the electrical outlet.
• Let the appliance and extraction head completely cool down.
Be careful, the extractor head stay hot for about 15 minutes after
it has stopped.
• Remove the extraction head.
Never use or add other
ingredients with the sugar
(powdered vanilla, coffee,
etc.).
Never exceed the maximum
recommended amount of
sugar.
Never leave the appliance
running without supervision.
CAUTION: Do not try to stop
the extraction head; let it
come to a stop on its own.
Do not touch the extraction
head; it is very hot!
Do not touch the appliance’s
metal parts during operation
as they are very hot.
The appliance is hot after
use: handle with care.
Never submerge the
appliance’s base and cord in
water.
