12. Push Height on t
he lower menu repeatedly
to set the signal height. You only need to do
this once to set the height for all of the digital
channels.
Quick Tip
Use the zoom feature to see multiple cycles of the signal in the upper part, and a single cycle in the lower part of the
display. (See page 149, Using Wave Inspector to Manage Long Record Length Waveforms.)
When setting up the logic probe, the rst set of eight leads (pins 7 to 0) on the logic probe are marked GROUP 1 on the
lead box. The second set (pins 15 to 8) is marked GROUP 2.
Digital channels store a high or low state for each sample. The threshold that separates high from low can be set for
each set of eight channels.
When and Why to Turn On MagniVu
Tektroni
x MagniVu acquisition technology allows you to have higher timing resolution so that you can more accurately
determine edge placement and make more precise timing measurements on digital edges. Using MagniVu, you can see
up to 16 times more detail than you can using normal digital channel sampling.
The MagniVu record is acquired in parallel to the main digital acquisition and is available at any time, running or stopped.
MagniVu
provides an ultra high resolution view of your data sampled at a maximum resolution of 121.2 ps for 10,000
points centered around the trigger.
NOTE. MagniVu centers itself around the trigger point. If you turn MagniVu on while using a large record length and you are
lookin
g somewhere other than the trigger point, then the d igital signal may be off screen. In most of these cases, you can nd
the digital record by looking for the digital signal in the upper overview and panning accordingly.
NOTE. You should turn on M agniVu when light gray shading is displayed to indicate the uncertainty of the edge position. If
the sh
ading is not displayed, you do not need to use MagniVu. (See page 115, Viewing Digital Channels.)
