PREPARING TO USE THE CL1100 SERIES TELEPHONE HANDSET 1) Prepare to install the battery into the handset by first removing the rubber screw cover and the screw beneath. Then firmly press down on the top of the battery compartment cover and slide it towards the bottom of the handset until it is removed. 2) Insert the battery connector into the connector inside the handset. 3) Replace the battery compartment cover, retaining screw and rubber screw cover.
CHARGING THE BATTERY The rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride battery must be fully char ged before using the phone for the first time. It is recommended that the battery pack be char ged overnight (or for at least 12 hours) without interruption before the first use. To charge the battery, place the handset, keypad down, in the base unit. Ensure that the “CHARGE” LED on the base illuminates.
PROGRAMMING THE HOTEL SERVICES DIRECT ACCESS KEYS The CL1100 series has either six (model CL1106) or eleven (model CL1111) programmable hotel services direct access (or auto dial) keys (M1-M6/M1 1.) These keys can be programmed to automatically dial telephone numbers or activate telephone system features. These keys can only be programmed from the base unit. To program the keys, follow these steps: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) Connect the CL1100 series to a working telephone line. Press the “SPEAKERPHONE” key.
TO MAKE A CALL USING THE HANDSET, WHILE DIALING WITH THE BASE KEYPAD 1) 2) 3) Pick up the handset and press the “ON” key . The “ON” LED will illuminate. Listen for dial tone, then dial the desired number using base keypad. To end the call, place the handset on the base cradle or press the “OFF” key . Note: Calls can only be made or received through either the handset or base. If the handset is already in use, pressing the “SPEAKERPHONE” key will not activate the speakerphone.
TO MUTE THE HANDSET The “MUTE” key is used to deactivate the handset microphone, while allowing the user to hear the other end of the conversation through the handset. 1) Press the “MUTE” key to activate. The “MUTE” LED will illuminate. 2) To turn off the mute feature, press “MUTE” again. The “MUTE” LED will turn off. TO MUTE THE SPEAKERPHONE 1) 2) Press the “MUTE” key on base. The “MUTE” LED will illuminate, to indicate that mute is active. Press the “MUTE” key again to disable mute.
