ClicktheEventDisplayiconontheControlwindowtoolbartoopentheEventDisplay.TheEvent
Displaywindowisthemainviewofbyte‐leveldata.
HowDataIsDisplayed
DataisdisplayedinhexontheleftandASCIIontheright.YoucanrestrictthedisplaytoonlyshowHex
orASCIIusingthebuttonsatthetopofthewindow.TheEventDisplaycanalsodisplaydataindecimal,
binary,EBCDIC,andothercharacterandnumberformats.Choosetheformatyouwouldlikefromthe
Datamenu,orright‐clickontheHex/ASCIIlabelsintheheadersandselectadifferentformat.
Clickonabyteinthedisplay.Thethreestatuslines atthebottomofthewindowwillupdatetoshowa
varietyofinformationaboutthebyte,includingitsvalueindifferentradixesandanyerrorsassociated
withthebyte.Usethemousetoselectseveralbytes.Thestatuslineschangetoshowthedatarate
overtherangeoftheselection,thedeltatimebetweenthefirstandthelastbytesintheselection,and
theCRC.Tochangethealgorithmusedtocalcula tetheCRC,clicktheCRCicon .
Byteswitherrorsareshowninred.Clickonthebytetoseewhattheerroris.
TheNetDecodersoftwaredisplaysdataotherthanbytesintheEventDisplay.Controlsignalchanges
areindicatedwithanup‐and‐downarrow.Flagsareusedasstart‐of‐frameandend‐of‐framemarkers.
Thesespecialsymbolsinconjunctionwiththedata bytesarecalledevents.
ScrollingversusStaticView
Bydefault,theEventDisplayscrollsasdataiscapturedsothatitalwaysshowsthelatestdata.To
preventtheEventDisplayfromscrolling,clicktheLockicon .ClicktheLockiconagaintoresume
scrolling.

ClicktheFrameDisplayiconontheControlwindowtoolbartoopentheFrameDisplay.Thisdisplay
allowsyoutohavebitlevelvisibilityonyourprotocol.
