QPHY-MOST150o Software Option INTRODUCTION TO QUALIPHY MOST150 OPHY QPHY-MOST150o is an automated test package performing all of the normative real time oscilloscope tests for sources in accordance with the MOST150 oPHY Automotive Physical Layer Sub-Specification Rev. 1.1, 05/2010. The software can be run on LeCroy Zi and Xi Series oscilloscope with at least 2 GHz bandwidth, a sample rate of at least 10GSa/s and 10Mpt of memory.
USING QUALIPHY MOST150 OPHY QualiPHY MOST150 oPhy guides the user, step-by-step, through each of the tests described in the specification: MOST150 oPHY Automotive Physical Layer Sub-Specification Rev. 1.1, 05/2010. To do this, the user must set up a test session. Users choose the test configuration they wish to run. There are five pre-loaded test configurations.
QPHY-MOST150o Software Option QUALIPHY COMPLIANCE TEST PLATFORM QualiPHY is LeCroy’s compliance test framework which leads the user through the compliance tests. QualiPHY displays connection diagrams to ensure tests run properly, automates the oscilloscope setup, and generates complete, detailed reports. The QualiPHY software application automates the test and report generation.
See the QualiPHY Operator’s Manual for more information on how to use the QualiPHY framework.
QPHY-MOST150o Software Option Oscilloscope Option Key Installation The required option keys must be purchased to enable the QPHY-MOST150o compliance tests. Call LeCroy Customer Support to place an order and receive the codes. Enter the key and enable the purchased option as follows: 1. From the oscilloscope menu select Utilities Utilities Setup... 2. Select the Options tab and click the Add Key button. 3. Enter the Key Code(s) using the on-screen keyboard. 4.
connection. Please refer to the QualiPHY Operator’s Manual for explanations on how to use Scope Selector and other QualiPHY functions. Accessing the QPHY-MOST150o Software using QualiPHY This topic provides a basic overview of QualiPHY’s capabilities. Please refer to the QualiPHY Operator’s Manual for detailed information. Access the QPHY-MOST150o software using the following steps: 1. Wait for the oscilloscope to start and have its main application running. 2.
QPHY-MOST150o Software Option 4. Click the Configuration button in the QualiPHY main menu: 5. Select a configuration from the pop-up menu: Figure 4 - QualiPHY configuration selection menu 6. Click Start. 7. Follow the pop-up window prompts.
Customizing QualiPHY The predefined configurations in the Configuration screen cannot be modified. However, you can create your own test configurations by copying one of the standard test configurations and making modifications. A description of the test is also shown in the description field when selected.
QPHY-MOST150o Software Option Creating Custom Configurations Beginning with any of the pre-loaded configurations, 1. Click on the Test Selector tab to change what tests you would like to be included in your new configuration. 2. Click on the Variable Setup tab to change the variables for your new configuration. 3. Click on the Limits tab to change which limit set should be used for your new configuration •See QualiPHY Manual for more information 4.

QPHY-MOST150o Software Option QPHY-MOST150o Operation After pressing Start in the QualiPHY menu, the software instructs how to set up the test using pop-up connection diagrams and dialog boxes.
MOST150 OPHY MEASUREMENT PREPARATION Before beginning any test or data acquisition, the oscilloscope must be warmed for at least 20 minutes. Calibration is automatic under software control and no manual calibration is required. This procedure will be run again if the temperature of the oscilloscope changes by more than a few degrees. QPHY-MOST150O TEST CONFIGURATIONS Configurations also include variable settings and limit sets, not just test selections.
QPHY-MOST150o Software Option QPHY-MOST150O VARIABLES Default Bitrate Specifies whether the bitrate is based on 48 kHz or 44.1 kHz frames. Fixed Bitrate Mode Specifies whether the fixed bitrate defined above is used instead of the measured value. Pre-measured Dark Level The dark level value can be entered if it is already known. Debug Mode When active, the test will pause after each test for debugging purposes and displays the parameter values.
Input Row For Relevant Zi Models Specifies whether to use the A or B inputs when a Zi model oscilloscope with multiple input rows is detected. Row A (Top Input Row) is the default. Path to Demo waveforms Specifies the location of the stored waveforms for Demo Mode. QPHY-MOST150O LIMIT SETS The limits in use by QPHY-MOST150o are the ones specified in the MOST150 oPHY Automotive Physical Layer Sub-Specification Rev. 1.1, 05/2010.
QPHY-MOST150o Software Option Eye Diagram Testing 1.2, 2.4, 4.1, 4.3 This test is performed at points SP1, SP2 and SP4 and creates an eye diagram from the input signal and tests it against the appropriate mask using the specified clock edge. The measurements at test point SP2 use a normalized mask (i.e. relative to the B0/B1 measured levels) while those at the remaining test points use an absolute mask. The result reported is the number of mask hits.
Transfer Jitter Testing 1.3, 2.6, 4.2 This test is performed at points SP1, SP2 and SP4. The oscilloscope captures a long signal record which is used to generate a TIE-track where the PLL from the clock recovery is set to a very low frequency. This TIE-track is then filtered by the specified filter. The filter is implemented as an IIR Butterworth filter for best conformance to the standard. The transfer jitter value is the RMS (sdev) of this filtered TIE-track.
QPHY-MOST150o Software Option Additional tests performed at SP1 Check Bitrate 1.1 The actual bitrate of the signal is measured and the deviation from the nominal value is compared to the specification. Figure 14 - Check Bitrate Results Additional tests performed at SP2 Dark level and Extinction Ratio 2.1 The dark level of the O/E converter is measured and used to calculate the extinction ratio. To measure the dark level, remove the POF-fibre from the O/E-converter.
B0/B1 Measurements 2.2 This test is provided for informational purposes only. Figure 16 - Oscilloscope Configuration after the B0/B1 Level Test Shown on the screen: • F2 and F3 are the selected pulse widths. Shown in the measurement section: • P1 and P2 are the calculated the B0 and B1 levels using the conditions in the specification. Note: The B0 and B1 measurements are used to align the Edge Masks, Eye Mask, and to calculate the reference levels for Transition time measurements.
QPHY-MOST150o Software Option Edge Mask Tests 2.3 The specification defines a single mask for the positive signal edges and individual masks for the negative edges for each of the allowed pulse widths. The script creates these masks automatically and saves them in the D:\Masks folder. Any existing masks with the same names will be overwritten. The signal amplitude is normalized using the measured B0 and B1 levels and a minimum of 1000 edges are tested.
Transition Time Tests 2.5 Transition times are measured relative to the measured B0/B1 levels and rescaled to give the results in Unit Intervals. The slowest rising edge and slowest falling edge are displayed and saved in the report.
