WaveSurfer 3000 Getting Started Guide
Serial Trigger and Decode Options
Serial trigger and decode options provide added insight when
debugging serial data standards (see table below). For the most up-to-
date list, go to: teledynelecroy.com/serialdata.
To access serial trigger and decode functions, press the front panel
Decode button or choose Analysis > Serial Decode from the menu bar.
Serial trigger and decoder setup differs depending on the protocol. For
detailed instructions, see the Trigger and Decode Instruction Manual
linked to each serial data standard on our website.
Software Options
Software options are available to enhance the operation of a WaveSurfer
3000 oscilloscope. After activating your license key (see p.14), these
functions are added to the oscilloscope’s menu bar.
Multi-Instrument Options
The Mixed Signal option (WS3K-MSO) enables mixed analog and digital
input and triggering. The digital leadset is delivered with the purchase of
this option. See p.13 and p.25.
The WaveSource Waveform Generator option (WS3K-FG) provides
stimulus output of Sine, Square, Ramp, Pulse, DC, Noise, and Arbitrary
waveforms. See p.33.
The Digital Voltmeter option (WS3K-DVM) activates an integrated 4-digit
digital voltmeter and 5-digit frequency counter that operates through the
same probes already attached to the oscilloscope channels. View real-
time and statistical (Min, Max, Avg, Range) measurements through a
dedicated user interface display that continues even when your triggering
system is stopped. The WS3K-DVM license key can be downloaded from
teledynelecroy.com/redeem/dvm at no charge.
