12.3. DISPOSAL OF BATTERIES
Batteries and rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of in
the household rubbish.
The symbol on the right means that you
as the consumer are obliged to dispose of
batteries and rechargeable batteries separately.
Collection containers are available at specialist
retailers
and numerous public institutions.
Information on disposal of old batteries
and rechargeable batteries is also available from
waste management companies and city and municipal adminis-
trations.
This disposal is free of charge for you. Protect the environment
and dispose of it properly.
An additional chemical symbol Pb (lead) or Hg (mercury) under
the crossed-out waste bin means that the battery/rechargeable
battery contains more than 0.0005% mercury or 0.004% lead.
